Celebrating our Local Heroes: Law Enforcement - Fire Fighters - First Responders - Veterans - Armed Forces - Educators - Medical. This group of people have served to protect and help secure our way of life and continue to be of service to our community! This is an opportunity for the community to show its appreciation and celebrate contributions they make to our society as a whole.

DownloadFriday, August 19 (2:30 pm): The Monticello VFW Post 8731 will demonstrate. Saturday, August 20 at 10:30 am the Monticello American Legion will demonstrate. Come watch and learn about the folding of the American flag and its meaning. Each one of the 13 triangular folds of the American Flag are symbolic. DownloadOur 1st Annual Local Heroes Days was a HUGE success in 2021.
We hope to see you again this year in 2022. This is a family-friendly event!
First 500 Heroes will receive a free tee-shirt for attending.
Local business and their suppliers have joined together to provide a variety of prizes to be given to our Local Heroes. Prizes in total exceeding $20,000.
No admission fee – this is a Free event open to the general public.
Free food and beverages on site (while supplies last).
Families are encouraged to attend so children can participate in meet and greet with law enforcement officers and other local heroes. This event is designed for one-on-one interaction with our local heroes!
View emergency and medical and military vehicles, sit inside a police officer’s car, climb up into a firetruck or see the inside of an ambulance, watch police dog demonstrations, fallen heroes tribute and more!
Special color guard presentation on Saturday morning at 10:30 am with Monticello American Legion, Monticello VFW and Boy Scouts.
Watch for a specific schedule of activities as we get closer to the event dates in 2022.
This is NOT a sales event nor is it a business promotion. Three days are set aside to honor our local heroes at this location on Thur.-Fri-Sat., August 18-19-20, 2022. Open Road RV will be moving their inventory aside and will use the front rows of the parking lot to showcase the vehicles and units of our local heroes. Come and see law enforcement vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, school buses and more. This event is designed to create interaction between our local heroes and community members. Stop by and talk to the individuals who have served to protect and help secure our way of life. This event will be interactive and educational for all. Bring the entire family and enjoy the fun! A Free lunch will be served to all who attend (while supplies last).
Bumper stickers will be available for Free at the Local Heroes Days event.
Additionally, feel free to stop into Open Road RV at 3880 Chelsea Road, Monticello and ask for one at our front counter. Store hours: Mon.-Thur. 9-6; Fri. & Sat. 9-5. Closed Sunday.
