We have a great line up of participants bringing their vehicles on site to be viewed by the general public. This will be an opportunity for meet-and-greet with local heroes who serve our community. (Note: not all vehicles will be available all days. See schedule for specifics.)

You'll also find out how non-profit organizations are serving our local heroes and showing appreciation for their service. Additional displays honoring local heroes will also be set up.

They have a 36 year history of demonstrating its dedication to to improving patient care and transportation safety. Come and see this medical transport helicopter land on site at the Local Heroes Days event all 3 days (Thur.-Fri.-Sat.).

These outdoor displays are semi-truck and trailer war memorials to honor our veterans. Tractor-trailer carrying a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. Minnesota State Patrol uses rollover simulator to drive home the importance of seat belt use. Lack of seat belt use is a contributing factor in about half of all motorists killed. In a crash, odds are four-times greater for injury if a motorist is not buckled up. This simulation will convince you of the importance of wearing a seat belt.
This indoor display of fine leather craftsmanship by artist Mike Bray honors many of our local heroes. With pieces like "Honor the Badge Police Saddle" that includes deputy badges from all 87 counties in Minnesota you'll admire how Mike uses every inch of leather to create art with a message. Take your time to view this artful display that pays tribute to our local heroes. Mike is an Air Force veteran and his studio is located in Monticello.
Sherburne County Sheriff's Office currently utilizes K-9 teams within the patrol and correctional divisions. The use of canines is a legitimate and valuable tool in law enforcement. Their greatest values are in the deterring effect of their presence and their superb sense of smell. Join us for a demonstration by handler and K-9 partner Storm who works as a narcotics detection dog at Sherburne County jail. Watch his skills as he searches an RV trailer on site at this event.

Northstar Search & Rescue currently utilizes volunteers and their canines to provide search and rescue services. These teams bring their skills and experience to assist law enforcement in finding and recovering missing persons throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and where ever else they are called out. This non-profit organization is dedicated to locating missing people and providing training, equipment, consulting, and response through field support, K-9 handler teams and EMS. Join us for a demonstration by handlers and their K-9 partners.

Join us for a special color guard ceremony for Local Heroes Days to show our appreciation for all who serve our community. The color guard will be a presentation by Monticello American Legion - Post 260, Monticello VFW - Post 8731 and the Monticello Boy Scouts - Troop 270. We'll raise the American flag for the day as Cody Robinson sings the National Anthem while we watch the color guard as they pay tribute to show honor for our local heroes.
Come and watch a live demonstration and explanation of why the American Flag is folded into a triangle and what eacb of the 13 folds means. Friday, Aug. 18 demonstration by Monticello VFW and on Saturday, Aug. 19 (2:00 pm) by Monticello American Legion.
